Tabitha Reefer, MBA, MPH, CPH, CHES- Owner
Hi there! I’m Tabitha, owner of Tabitha Reefer Consulting.
I began public health consulting in January 2016 after securing a contract to continue the work from my internship during graduate school. From this and other work, I developed a skill set that includes creating and maintaining collaborative partnerships, grant writing and reporting, editing manuscripts, planning events and activities to promote an organization’s mission, completing reporting for grants, and developing and implementing strategic goals to drive program success.
In fall 2019, I added another service to the business and began teaching classes on work-life harmony at higher education institutions. The topics for these classes include discussing stress and burnout, mindfulness and meditation, time and boundary management, sleep, decluttering our physical and mental space, implementing work-life harmony practices at home and work, goal setting, and habit creation. As someone who has struggled with this harmony in the past, I love teaching others ways to empower themselves and maximize their time.
My higher education career began at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where I completed my Bachelors of Arts in anthropology with a minor in applied statistics in 2012. After completing my BA, I obtained my Master of Business Administration in healthcare administration from Ashford University in 2013. I graduated in 2015 with a Master in Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health with a concentration in behavioral and community health sciences. I am a Certified Health Education Specialist, American Council on Exercise Health Coach and Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Certified in Public Health.
I currently work part-time at a nonprofit organization in San Diego, CA. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and friends doing all kinds of activities, including hiking, hanging out at the beach, and trying new restaurants. I enjoy learning and am usually taking a continuing education course to expand my knowledge.
I founded the group “San Diego Public Health Professionals Networking” on LinkedIn to assist professionals in creating new meaningful connections. If you are in the area, join us!
